North Korea Conducts Test On New “Super-Large Warhead”

On April 19, North Korea conducted a test of a cruise missile warhead and a new anti-aircraft missile in the West Sea of Korea. The tests, reported by North’s KCNA news agency, showcased a power test of a super-large warhead for the “Hwasal-1 Ra-3” cruise missile and a test launch of the “Pyoljji-1-2” anti-aircraft missile. KCNA emphasized that these tests were routine activities aimed at rapid technological development, unrelated to regional tensions. North Korea’s strategic cruise missile is suspected to be capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. Despite this significant test, neighboring countries like South Korea, Japan, and the United States did not report any detected missile flights.
