Queenslands Palm Cove crowned worlds best beach by global magazine giant Conde Nast [Video]

Australia has won the official bragging rights for the best beach in the world, with a spot in Far North Queensland claiming the top gong.

Palm Cove Beach has been crowned the top of the lot by the editors and readers of Conde Nast Traveller, beating out picturesque locations in Hawaii, Indonesia and Greece.

The idyllic stretch of beach was recognised for its combination of leaning palm trees and powdery sand that created the “epitome of a tropical paradise”.

But it was not the only Australian spot to make the list, with five other beaches making the top 34 list, including four in the top 10.

After Honopu Beach in Kauai, Hawaii and Breckon in Shetland, Wategos Beach along the coastline of Byron Bay was rated number four.
