One Nation, One Election: Key Recommendations Made By Kovind-Led Panel On Simultaneous Polls [Video]

Former President Ram Nath Kovind-led panel on Thursday submitted the report on one nation, one election to the president. The panel was formed by the government with the aim of exploring the possibility of holding simultaneous elections across the country.

In the 18,000-page report, the panel backed the simultaneous polls, asserting that several constitutional amendments were required to push the reform through.

Kovind was accompanied by other panel members, including Home Minister Amit Shah, former Finance Commission chairman N K Singh, former Lok Sabha Secretary General Subhash Kashyap, former leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, when they submitted the report to the president at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
