MARSHFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – On Friday, 35 people became citizens of the United States in a naturalization ceremony.

It happened at Marshfield High School as part of the Missouri Cherry Blossom Festival. People from 20 countries, including Australia, India, Moldova, Nepal, and Vietnam, all became U.S. citizens.

”Since it took nine years, I feel really relieved. Finally, I’m done, it’s great. It’s an accomplishment in a way; I’m glad to be done with that,” said Valeria Forsyth, one of the new U.S. citizens.

Many guest speakers were there, including the president of the Cherry Blossom Festival, and some Missouri lawmakers.
